Abstract: As an indispensable figure of speech in rhetoric,personification is widely used in the language communication,enhancing the vividness and freshness of what is being described.This paper challenges to take a new perspective and conducts a research on the application of personification to oral English,in contrast with written English,based on some relevant theories in Pragmatics.
