Abstract: In the modern trend Wang Guowei is a very unique but very important scholar. He engaged in the study of pure academic learning and pure philosophy through his individual life experience and so his thinking became profound far from the enthusiastic time. Wang Guowei was different from the thinkers at that time that focused on the social transformation.Wang Guowei's unique academic learning was inseparable from his tragic life. In a sense,the former is an extension of the latter.Wang Guowei's pursuit of pure academic learning was the result of attempting to escape the tragedy of life.The philosophy of Schopenhauer and Laozi and Zhuangzi and others is a reflection tool for the tragedy of his life.
