Abstract: Mao Zedong's idea about initiative is an important characteristic of Mao Zedong's value theory on life. It is one of the most important content of Mao Zedong's theory on contradiction transforming too. Mao Zedong's idea about initiative shows the integration of material and consciousness, activity and passivity. It also embodies the principal role that practice plays. It is the most essential experience why China's revolution can develop from small to large, from weak to powerful, from failure to success. It is a great example that Mao Zedong applies Marxism to concrete practice of China's revolution and construction.
