Abstract: The system theory of the historical materialism has the rich content,but less attention is paid to it in its subsequent development The“absence”of the system theory in the contemporary forms of the historical materialism means the incompleteness of the theoretical system.Therefore,it is of great importance in theory and practice to sort out and explore the fundamental content of the system theory in the historical materialism based on the text of classical writers such as Marx and Engels.We think that theories on the essence, origin,function and me change of the system are me main content of the system theory in the historical materialism.
