Abstract:
Since the Korean Drama was introduced into China in the 1990s, it has whipped up a wave worship of Korean in mainland China, which influenced the view of life and lifestyle of Chinese youths unconsciously. This paper focuses on the concept of Love and Marriage of college students, and based on the Cultivation Theory hypothesis to discuss the influence of the female narrative of Korean dramas on college students. The study uses the survey data on China’s 12 colleges and universities. The study found that the college students’ contacting, cognition and evaluation of Korean dramas will have an effect on the college students’ standard of spouse selection and the consciousness of gender equality. However, it has no significant statistical effect on their loyalty to the marriage, and their virginity standard. In addition, the backgrounds of different college students will affect their concept of love and marriage inordinately, such as demographic variables, social stratum of family, and school environment, etc.
