Abstract: Jiang Zemin enriches and develops Deng Xiaoping's ideas of increasing farmers' income as follows: firstly, he not only reaffirms the relationship between increasing farmers' income and carrying out “xiao kang” in the whole country, promoting the development of national economy, maintaining national stability, and strengthening our party's ruling status, but also considers increasing farmers' income from the aspect of Chinese human fights; secondly, while Deng Xiaoping takes “plus” as the main approach to increasing farmers' income, Jiang Zemin emphasizes “plus” and “subtract”, and considers supporting the poor in the countryside as an important aspect of “plus”.
