Abstract: The increasing enrollment of higher education since 1999 causes college graduates to face risks of unemployment.So the opinion that "studying is useless" is emerging and prevailing in the rural areas. Three reasons can account for this phenomenon;educational cost beyond the farmers' economical affordability;the disproportion of input and output of higher education and education inequity.In order to solve the problem,we need to increase farmers' income through many channels,to establish and perfect supporting system for poor students,to improve teaching quality and strengthen the employment guidance,and perfect charging system of higher education.
