Abstract: After the middle of 20th century, a great many cities with university as main body sprang up in western countries. They gradually developed into the evolution model and programme model. The construction of university city in China began in 1990s, and its development has become faster and faster in recent years. The emergence of university city accelerates the city's development, changes the city's industrial structure, strengthens the city's education function and also promotes the development of education itself at the same time.
