Thinking and Constructing of the "Tian Xia": A Sociological Perspective

摘要: 天下观是中国历代知识分子身怀的普遍激情。随着现代进化论的滥觞，传统的天下观势必会经历一个重构的过程。以社会学的视角看，天下具有神圣性、认同性、秩序性、自由性和社会时空性等多重含义。天下国家本质上是一种公天下的结构。天下的结构化包括两条机制：其一，“王天下”处理了天下有道和天下无道之间的矛盾；其二，“王天下”的根本逻辑是和平式的，讲求“天下化成”“通天下”。

Abstract: The View of "Tian Xia" has been the universal passion from the standpoint of the intellectual in China. With the beginning of evolutionism, the traditional "Tian Xia" view has to undergo the process of reconstruction. "Tian Xia" has multiple meanings: holiness, identity, orderliness, liberty, social temporality-spatiality. The Structure of "Tian Xia" has been public essentially. The structuralization of "Tian Xia" has two mechanisms including virtue-based government and harmony government.
