Abstract: Although Li Jianwu's literary criticism was based on the western background,it gave up the writing manner of the literary theory in the west.He proceeded from the subjective,grasped the overall assurance,dedicated to the soul resonance between the critics and the authors.His literary criticism which expressed the life experiences with the forms of metaphor and symbolism expressed the truths with the artistic methods and showed the distinctive poetic qualities.Li Jianwu's poetic criticism is the extension and development of Chinese traditional poetry.
