Abstract: The paper first traced the origin of the three-dimensional criminal law science (TDCLS) and its development process in the recent more than ten years. It then explained that the vitality of TDCLS lies in its being in line with the world outlook and the methodology of Marxism, and TDCLS is the requirements of the development of Chinese criminal law in the present era, reflects the actual situation of operation of criminal law, and is beneficial in enabling the Chinese criminal law community to be heard, and then pointed out and analyzed some new topics emerged in recent years on TDCLS. Lastly, it put forward the problems on TDCLS to be solved, including highlighting its subject status, distinguishing the actual state the ideal state, giving attention to the status of criminal policies in the system of TDCLS, and achieving the interim and long-term goals of TDCLS.
