Abstract: In allusion to such important higher education projects implemented by Chinese government as "211 Project" and "985 Project", the article defines the meaning of project management in higher education from the perspective of the theory of modern project management, analyzes the problems and deficiencies of traditional management patterns, and finally proposes some suggestions with the expectation of carrying out preliminary discussion on the theory and method of project management in higher education in China.
