Abstract:
Based on the new technologies and formats in the digital environment, taking social science journals as the main research object, this paper tries to explore the development status and trend of new digital publishing methods of Chinese social science journals, through literature research with the focus on the summary of CNKI practice and its data results. It is believed that Chinese social science journals have entered a stage of rapid development as a new type of digital publishing, though accounting for 21.4% of the total and still having much room for improvement as a business. The network first issue has an obvious effect in shortening the publication period, and more attention should have been paid to enhanced publication, which can offer a deep integration of relevant information like graphs, tables, data, videos on line by using digital technology. At present, a number of social science journals with high academic quality in China have tried to publish single literature online, and the number is increasing year by year. Online publication helps to slow down the reduction speed of the average literature volume in social science journals, and plays a significant role in shortening the publication delay of papers, improving the composite impact factor and composite immediacy index of journals. Enhanced publishing is an effective way to promote knowledge dissemination, improve knowledge service capabilities, realize content value-added, and promote the digital transformation of academic journals.
